National Assembly Summons Buhari Over Nigeria’s Recession

The National Assembly has passed a resolution inviting President Muhammadu Buhari to brief a joint session of the legislators on the state of Nigeria’s economy.

Lawmakers in the Senate at Thursday’s legislative proceedings unanimously concurred with the resolution of the House of Representatives.

They asked President Buhari to hold an emergency joint session with the aim of providing information on what his administration was doing to get Nigeria out of the recession.

The decision followed a motion raised by the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah, which drew the attention of the Senate to the resolution from the lower chamber.

The House of Representatives had said it was imperative that the President address a joint session of the National Assembly to outline plans to pull Nigeria out of recession.

The lawmakers reached the resolution after a debate that spanned two days at the floor of the lower chamber in Abuja.

To indicate how important the situation was, the Minority Leader of the House, Toby Okechukwu as well as some other lawmakers, Leo Ogor and Oluwole Oke, outlined the factors they believed led to the recession.

Most of them identified the Treasury Single Account Policy, Foreign Exchange Policy and the structure of Nigeria as some of the issues that needed to be addressed.

Economy In Recession

Nigerians have lamented the upsurge in the cost of commodities, one of which is rice from 12,000 Naira to over 20,000 Naira in some parts of the country, a fall out of the economic recession.

Economic analysts had predicted more persons going into smuggling of rice due to the increase in price, with most of them opting for Benin Republic where they could get rice for as low as 12,000 Naira.

While the government is making effort to address the economic challenges, a World Economic Outlook report released by the International Monetary Fund predicted that the Nigerian economy would grow by 0.6% in 2017.

The report revealed that the nation’s real Gross Domestic Product was expected to increase marginally by 0.6% with Consumer Prices rising by 17.1%, effectively lifting the country out of an officially declared recession.

Attacks On Oil Facilities

The recession was a result of the drop in the price of crude oil and the attacks on the nation’s oil facilities by some militant groups in the Niger Delta region.

Some militants under the umbrella of the Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibility for most of the attacks which have drawn the attention of the Nigerian Government and some other foreign governments.

Disturbed by the spate of the militants’ activities, the Nigerian Army launched a special team code-named “Operation Crocodile Smile”, as the government agreed to dialogue with the militants after a ceasefire agreement from both sides.

In spite of the development, both military and militants have continued to point accusing fingers, alleging a breach of agreements as the military said it would not hesitate to repel militants’ attack in the region.

Imagine a young lady who was just married to her husband about 8 years ago, giving her marriage certificate to her parent at marriage venue has already created an impression and suspect in the heart of the husband. She believed that all the final says should come from her parent. What so ever happen in her home was been related to her parent. Pronouncing curses, abusive language on her husband everyday, then where is Love. You and your husband are one, whatsoever happens between both of you should not be heard outside your home. Give your husband the kind of honour and respect you expect from others to him. There was a particular man that do help us to clear the compound of my rented apartment about 10 years ago. We always call him by his name without giving him any respect. In a particular day our compound was bushy and we need him to come and spray it but could not find him. I was in his house looking for him, asked for him by his name from his wife unknowingly without any due respect. Surprisingly, the wife rushed out of her room asking me are you looking for our Daddy? I said yes, where is he. She answered me respectfully that he's not around, sincerely I was shocked, and since then I changed from disrespecting this man from that day on. Honour your husband & people will respect you. 

       Never proud to your husband even you are richer than your husband. Never allow your own decision to supersede your husband's own. Let your own decision be in form of advice, except in a situation whereby the husband is an unserious type. And you can change your husband for better through your prayer. I remember a young lady long time ago whom husband to marry was a drunkard, pool addicted, smoker, humaniser and bus conductor in Lagos. You understand what I mean. I encouraged her to please kindly pray for him to desist from all those act if truly she loved to married him. The man is a good friend of mine, and the lady was my good daughter in the Lord. Though it wasn't that easy but with the help of God the boy changed completely. Though the lady paid the price of: i) prayer ii) Denied herself to go for direct entry for degree because the man in question was school cert failed. This sister sponsored the man to further his studies even to extent of SSCE. Now today they are happily married with children. You will see humility on the face of this my sister. You too can make your home to work for you if you want and you have price to pay. Its a matter of humility, endurance, support, releasing yourself to him, embracing any situation that comes and involve in extensive prayer. Rather endure today that you may enjoying the fruits of your labour and your home tomorrow.

       Never determine sex in your home, always release yourself anytime your husband demand for it. This will make Love so strong between both of you. Never determined the number of children you want, let it be the agreement between both of you. Using prcaution without the knowledge of your husband may destroy your home. If your husband doesn't know how to do it, trained him if you know better than him, instead to be looking for another man outside your home. Give him some food, herbs and drugs that will make him look healthy to perform very well on bed. I remembered the lady I ought to marry initially who run away from me because she taught I can not perform very well, since I was inexperience then. I missed her indeed but later i remember a film I bought long time ago when I was in school, I watched the film and got the message. Another lady I met later who has agreed to marry me, I was begging her to get pregnant for me before we settle down, confessed to me after having sex with her that she was enjoying what they call sex enjoyment for the 1st time and I was amazed. Your husband also can performed better if you determined to trained him. I don't used to have sex affairs with any lady before this period i was talking about and they usually quit in the midst of the relationship with the taught that I was an impotent. I believed I am not talking with unmarried ladies here but rather the married women. Your home is in your hand try to keep it or you regret. 

       If is time for you to begin to dress properly the way you normally dress initially when you got married and ensure you are packaging yourself very well. Nigeria I hail thee, you are a great Nation and a blessed Country. You are rich of all sorts of resources that are precious and costly. You are never poor among the Nations of the world and continent. You are nation flowing with milk and honey. You are indeed blessed with many resources that cannot all be mention. May we talk of crude oil, tin, iron ore, gold, diamond, and other precious stones such as marble, granite, dynamite, glass and so on?  What of sand of different kind like Loam soil that is good enough for farming, sand soil that is good for molding blocks, clay soil which is useful in molding beads, blocks, house, pots, ceramics works, tiles and so on. Your land is good, richer even on the rock, the mountains, the valleys, on highlands and hills to grow varieties of plants. Products of your lands are so good, better, rich and precious for farming even than land on other part of Africa and world. I am not condemning any country but rather praising God on behalf of Nigeria. It shall be well with you and your descendants’ great Nigeria. What kinds of fruits do we mention that is not well grown on you? Is there any plants that refused to bring forth its good taste? Talking of best fruits such as Orange, pineapple, Mangoes, Pawpaw, Tangerine, Cashew, Coconut, war nut( a heart healer, sight brightening) Banana and other fruits that cannot be mentioned with different taste at its season are your products. Peanut, groundnuts, and vegetables such as okro, ewedu, waterleaves, and ogbono are good soup for Nigerians. Emerging Kola nuts, Bitter Kola, coffee, cocoa and beans are good product of Nigeria. Do we talk about different forms of trees that bring forth cash like bamboo, oak tree, maligner, timber, Mahogany and so on?.

Are you not rich in production of crops such as cassava, yams, cocoyam’s, sweet potatoes, Irish potatoes, corn, millet, rice, tomatoes of different kinds, varieties of peppers, garbage, ginger, garlic, onion, peas, beans and so on. I am rejoicing on your behalf Nigeria for greater thing The Lord God is doing in your land. No life without History. Everyone of your descendant is writing their history for the world to see and for the incoming generations. Though it’s your period of hard, tough and difficult time, know this tough time is allowed to happened, but be not dismay Nigeria tough time will never last, I therefore encouraged you to rather be tough with the tough time since tough people do last. Make hay while the sunshine. Never become job seekers after a while rather become employer of workers Nigerians. Never rejoiced getting enslaved under the foreigners thinking you are highly paid rather let the foreigners come to serve under you. Get them employ as expert, specialist and professionals in your companies and get them pay. Stop painting your Country with black paint, bad and non good names. Suffering, afflictions, hunger, vain labour and long endurance will become history in your land. No more disarray, no more students’ unrest, no more disturbances, and terrorist and the issues of book Haram, Niger Delta avengers and other forms of hoodlums becomes things of the past in your land. There is going to be peace in Nigeria and there is going to be peace to all Nigerians. As many that wish Nigeria well it shall be well with them, as many that wish peace in Nigeria there shall be peace in their life, their home, with their family and for the rest of their life and as many that wish Nigeria prosperity shall surely prosper, they will not know sorrow, nor lack good things in their life. It shall be well with them in the morning, in the afternoon and night. As many Lovers of Nigeria will experience the Love and the blessing of God. Nothing shall be hard and difficult for them in life. They shall surely progress and move forward in life. They will always make it, be on top, succeed in life and be elevated. FRSC Speed limit to Nigeria vehicle is presently a child play, since security on Nigerian roads are not guarantee. Therefore Mandating speed limit to all vehicles in Nigeria is like the FRSC determined to trapped people down for the intruders who could easily catch people on their way unaware with their own speedy vehicles without speed limit. President Muhammed Buhari need to stop the FRSC from implementing such idea that is yet to fit our nation to avoid wasting Peoples life on the road.
Most of the policy been introduce to Nigeria are not well verify before implemeting them. There is need to verify probably the policy will be of beneficiary to Nigerians or not. Lets stop killing Our people, they deserve at least their own honour and respect. If Federal government could not put the speed limit into concideration, where then is democracy. Lets bring into Nigeria those policy that will be of great beneficiary to people you are governing. Imaging what happened in some state in Nigeria, their governors only introduced the policy that in not beneficiary to people they are governing but that will rather increase their IGR. And its a pity that the people will still suffer many things that suppose to enjoy from the government.It is not fair. Think twice you will leave that position one day. Stop FRSC from impementing Speed limit its not yet fitting Nigeria. FRSC supposed to draw the attention of both tiers of government to all the bad roads that are causing accident and waste the lives of many people in Nigeria.
